In 1958 Knut Jacobsson founded 'Elitmaskiner' in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden. The company manufactured trucks for internal use. Ltd. and TCM America joined UniCarriers Group, and in 2013 both companies merged to become UniCarriers Corporation. In 2016, all Nissan forklifts began using the UniCarriers brand name.
